Spoons

3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon

2 tablespoons – 1 ounce

4 tablespoons = 1/4 cup

5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon = 1/3 cup

8 tablespoons = 1/2 cup

12 tablespoons = 3/4 cup

16 tablespoons = 1 cup

Cups

1 cup – 8 fluid ounces

2 cups = 1 pint or 16 fluid ounces

4 cups = 1 quart or 32 fluid ounces

8 cups = 2 quarts or 1/2 gallon or 64 fluid ounces

16 cups = 4 quarts or 1 gallon or 128 fluid ounces

Etc

60 drops = 1 teaspoon

Pinch = 1/8 teaspoon

Dash = few drops

1/2 fluid ounce = 1 tablespoon

Ingredients

5 eggs = about one cup

2 tablespoons butter = 1 ounce

1 stick butter = 1/2 cup

1 lb butter = 2 cups

1 lb grated cheese = 4 to 5 cups

3 ounce package cream cheese = 7 tablespoons

1 cup heavy cream = 2 cups whipped

1 lb all purpose flour = 4 cups, sifted

1 lb white sugar = 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups

1 lb light brown sugar = 2 1/3 cups, firmly packed

1 lb dark brown sugar = 2 1/8 to 2 1/4 cups, firmly packed

1 medium orange = 6 to 8 tablespoons juice

1 medium lemon = 3 tablespoons juice

1 medium lime – 2-3  tablespoons juice

     {to get max juice out of citrus, press and roll it before cutting}

15 oz package raisins = 3 cups

3 medium white or sweet potatoes = about 1 pound

8 oz macaroni = 2 cups uncooked, 4 cups cooked 

8 oz spaghetti = 2 cups uncooked, 4 cups cooked
